Helping Italians Become Christ Followers
We thank God for all He is doing in reaching people for Himself. We have been overwhelmed with opportunities to serve, especially in what we consider our most heart-felt ministry: Discipleship.
Pray for the following who are being discipled: Eleonora, Senija, Alexandra, Maria, Damaris, Tania, Pietro, Bruno, Joy, Cristiano, Giuseppe, Irina, Floriana, Rita, Jennifer, Andrea, Giovanni, Nicola, Mauro.
We praise that Lord that we have had nearly ten people ask for Baptism. We will be holding baptisms on Easter Sunday this year.
Pray for us to be able to prepare each one that has asked for baptism. Pray that we can raise up Disciplers to help us carry the load.
Featured Outreach On Friday, February 12th we are going to have a movie outreach night geared especially to couples, but open to everyone. We are excited because the Christian movie has a clear gospel presentation. Pray for many unbelievers to come and to come forward for Christ!
Update post Feb 12th: We had a great turnout for the event!! We watched the movie Fireproof (in case you were wondering). Pray for David and Pauline, Lauretta, Alberto and Arianna and others who heard the Gospel, many for the first time.
Youth Ministry Outing We continue to enjoy ministering and equipping young Italians for Christ. Recently, we enjoyed visiting a sister church in Rome with 13 young people from our church. We enjoyed their hospitality. They fed us, encouraged us spiritually, took us around Rome and taught us new worship music (see below)!
Jonathan also had the opportunity to preach and teach during the time with them.
Praise God for the next generation of Italian Christ-followers!
Everyday Outreach
In a country where only 0.8% claim to be evangelical, every moment of our public life gives us opportunities to reach out. For example, Melodee, in preparing for her Italian license exam, had the opportunity to talk to a young man named Giacomo. When Giacomo asked what we do for a living, Melodee shared with him how we work for a church. This opened up a great conversation, and he actually asked if he could come visit our church!
Things like this happen to us on a regular basis. Please pray with us that we would "always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks [us] for a reason for the hope that is in [us];" (1 Peter 3:15)
